Add a clear, declarative option in Oracle APEX Tree Region to control single vs multiple node selection, with built-in examples

Add a clear, declarative option in Oracle APEX Tree Region to control single vs multiple node selection, with built-in examples and documentation.

Currently, developers must rely on properties or custom JavaScript to fully understand and manage multi-node selection behavior. Providing a more visible and well-documented option in the Tree Region settings—along with sample use cases—would improve usability, reduce development time, and help beginners adopt Tree components more easily.

This enhancement would be especially helpful for applications involving hierarchical data, role assignments, category selection, or navigation-driven workflows.

This is currently on the roadmap for a future release of Oracle APEX.

This would be a very valuable enhancement for Oracle APEX developers.

Today, controlling single vs multiple node selection in Tree regions often requires undocumented properties or custom JavaScript, which increases complexity—especially for beginners.

A clear, declarative option in the Tree Region attributes, along with built-in examples, would significantly improve usability, reduce development time, and promote best practices.

This feature would be extremely useful for real-world use cases like role-based access, menu navigation, category selection, and hierarchical assignments.

    Good Idea!
The tree control could be overall redesigned to be used in accounting, in dictionaries, in folder structures etc. as part of IR or IG or classic report!
