Idea Summary
Add ability to interactive reports to make sorts, filters, highlights, control breaks and other features of Interactive reports that display in the strip above the report data display region read only to the end user when they have been set for the primary report.
Use Case
We have reports where the users tamper with the primary report settings such as removing sorts, control breaks, filters, highlights and it causes confusion. I know you can do a reset but users are not in tuned with that. We can hide the strip that displays them but the problem with that is if users for example filters field they don't see that that filter is set since the strip is hidden and that again causes confusion
Preferred Solution (Optional)
Either create a seperate strip where users can see their end user defined settings apart from the primary report settings. So in this case we can hid the trip that displays the primary report setting and the user can see their own settings and know a rest is need to get back to base report.
Alternatively, have various properties added for the sort, filters, highlights , control breaks which can be set if you want them to be displayed/modified by the end user. So you can hide the primary report settings still display the strip that displays these properties and if a user sets their own they will only see their own settings and know that a reset is needed which can alleviate confusion.
In keeping with the declarative abilities you might want to have some form of authorization assigned to the sort, filters, highlights etc which can say who who can see those when they are set for a report.
