Sort IR columns, hidden fields last in App-Builder

I know you will discard it, but you should at least know 😊

It would be great to have a sort capability in IR where Items that get the status hidden are automatically sorted to the end, so I find the relevant columns at the beginning.Β

We reviewed this idea carefully, and while it was interesting, we concluded that due to all the internal implications we need to take into account, it is unlikely to make its way into APEX.

We're not discarding it, it's actually a good idea, though we're not sure what the best solution is yet.

Hi Juergen. We were considering a sort option in the columns tree node. Then it becomes a user preference. I prefer to have hidden columns at the top for some reason. In the end, you can easily multi select and moves the nodes according to your preference, which makes this idea a bit difficult to prioritize.

Sort like what? Alphabetical? So you probably not doing real projects anymore 😜, but let me remind you of the good old days. If you have an IR, you might want some hidden columns to control the behaviour the users will never see. So you are going to the relevant fields (the users see) very often, changing headings, Template Directives, etc.

You are not caring about the hidden fields and they distract. Having them at the beginning would be the worst case πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Maybe it's the Oracle virus, what do I know, still unvaccinated 😌

    From the idea description:Β

have a sort capability in IR

You said you'd want them at the bottom. I always liked to see hidden columns up first. I get your point, it's irritating to move columns over and over again.
