Allow configuration to put Environment Banner into any of the Applications.

Idea Summary
Similar to how Environment Banner is visible within workspace. if same or similar banner can also be put/made visible inside actuall applicaitons either on Top or Left/Right edges.

Use Case
Users have hard time differentiating between different environments like Prod, UAT and/or Test when they are working on them siimultaneously. since UI and everything else is quite similar. having a highlighted Bar describing the environment name or something is pretty userful and straight forward.

Preferred Solution (Optional)
Having the same Environment Banner be availalble/configurable(only show or hide ..actual message to remain same as the one in workspace) per application would be nice.

We reviewed this idea carefully, and while it was interesting, we concluded that it is unlikely to make its way into APEX in the foreseeable future.

Also, regarding the Environment Banner, as a first step, please make it available in the Builder where Developers could use it without the need to have access to the Administration. A good example is apex.oracle.com where we can't use this feature due to not having access to the Administration. But it's also the case in large corporations where roles are usually segregated.
If needed, that could be another Idea, as it is different task. But definitely will be appreciated by developers in my opinion.

probably needs more thought so that it doesn't interfere with the actual UI, especially testers may not like it and preferably like to do their testing without the banner. for example testing the UI with banner is not same as without a banner.

a possible solution is to colour code the favicon or replace it with same colour setting in environment banner, think it stands out very well.

This would be much more useful than having this banner in de development interface. At least in our situation where we don't even have a developer interface in UAT and production. (runtime installation only)

Having an option to implement this by changing the browser title bar would be even better as this would interact at all with the page layout

Great idea, and great comments.  Another additional feature would be to expose the text in the the Environment Banner (or even a “short” version of the text) that could be used in the page's Title - so it would be included in the browser tab text and in bookmarks.  “My Report - &BANNER_SHORT. ” yields say, “My Report - Dev ACME”

This is a great and useful idea.  We have had incidents that users started Beta testing using production url and later they realized that they are using production application.  A highlighted bar indicating the environment name is pretty useful, same like Apex builder banner.

Great idea, would be really helpful. I hope it will be revised in the future.

i am not sure if this is helpful now that the status is “closed” for this idea.

but recently i have noticed in APEX 23.1 that when using OpenDoors credetials (just userid ..no pass) as authentication scheme, the environment label is show on that app login page.

So clearly its there somewhere … and still feel it can easily be enabled for other pages (or atleast other built in authentication pages)
