Idea Summary
In the workflow process, it would be nice if the task assignment considers vacation rules and allocates tasks to delegates when applicable.
Use Case
- Use Case 1: A user (User1) going on vacation assigns a delegate to manage and act upon all tasks during their absence. Both User1 and the delegate have the authority to take action on these tasks.
- Use Case 2: In a scenario where User1 neglects to mark their vacation, an administrator can record it on their behalf. Consequently, all of User1's pending tasks will be transferred to the delegate's queue, empowering the delegate to address them.
- Use Case 3: Should User1 return from vacation earlier than planned, they can opt to prevent any pending tasks assigned to the delegate from appearing in their own task queue.
Preferred Solution
- Ability to create customized delegate or vacation schedule to refer to when allocating tasks to prospective task owners.
- Set up an automation for tasks that allows for execution as an Admin, which can be effective for automatic reassignment of tasks.
