Range Slider Page Item

Idea Summary
Proposing a native implementation of the basic html input range type as a Range Slider Page Item for numbers or dates. This feature would enable users to easily select a range of values by sliding a handle along a visual slider, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for data input.

Use Case
Filtering and Searching: In data-intensive applications, users often need to filter and search for specific ranges of values, such as price ranges, date ranges, or numerical ranges. The Range Slider Page Item would allow users to effortlessly define their desired range by sliding the handles, making it quicker and more precise to refine search results or filter data.

Data Analysis, Visualization and Simulation: When analyzing datasets, users frequently need to analyze specific ranges of data. The Range Slider Page Item would empower users to interactively select ranges of interest, such as plotting a chart for a specific date range or examining data within a particular numeric interval. This functionality would enhance the data exploration capabilities, enabling users to gain insights more effectively.

Configuration and Settings: The Range Slider Page Item could also be leveraged in administrative settings, where administrators or users need to define thresholds or boundaries for specific system configurations. For example, in a project management application, users could use the Range Slider Page Item to set the permissible range for task durations, ensuring that the system adheres to predefined limits.

Preferred Solution (Optional)
I understand there is a plugin already available for this but it would be nice and convenient for a developer if this were implemented natively.

This is currently on the roadmap for a future release of Oracle APEX.

This used to exist in Apex 5. Why was it removed? Would love to have it back.

This used to exist in Apex 5. Why was it removed?

It was implemented using jQueryUI (deprecated in APEX 20.1) for jQuery Mobile Theme 50 (deprecated APEX 5.1). It was never supported for use in the Desktop or Universal Theme UIs.
