https://www.oracle.com/solutions/business-analytics/analytics-desktop/oracle-analytics-desktop.html

Preferred Solution (Optional)
Something look like oracle analytics with it's power (clusters-forecast-…)

We reviewed this idea carefully, and while it was interesting, we concluded that due to all the internal implications we need to take into account, it is unlikely to make its way into APEX.

    This seems like something you would design into your own APEX application, no?

  • mohamedyounis30002000 OP 2.1 years ago

    I mean that i can prepare view and user can use it to Make his own dashboard

    Graphs, tables and he can forecast data

    All this exists in Oracle analytic desktop

    It may be Good if user can drag and drop and create friendly dashboard

    I have often wanted to allow users to make dashboards.  I would like them to be able to drag or position somehow their own regions/widgets into their own natural process flow.

    @phillip.grimshaw it will be amazing

    Hi @mohamedyounis30002000 , the APEX team discussed this idea earlier. We have generic dashboard patterns in sample apps. A dashboard should follow your own application business requirements. There is likely no good way of making this a generic component. We've seen many good looking dashboards on customer apps and it always comes from a deep understanding of your own data. Hope that helps!

    Hi @vincent morneau

    First Thanks for your reply and APEX team discussion

    But let me tell you, Unfortunately I'm as Oracle APEX Developer and You as Oracle Owners Lose a Big Company “Minapharm” In Egypt That Go to Power PI To Add the Facility For Users To Create Their Own Dashboards After They Was Depending On Oracle APEX as Reporting Tool Integrated With Oracle EBS and Integrated with Other Systems Like HR System That Work On SQL Server Database ,

    I know this is a hard idea to be reached but I actually lose big opportunity and you too as Oracle lose this

    Thanks for your kind reply

    Hi @mohamedyounis30002000

    I‘m sorry to hear that this company decided to go with Power BI instead of APEX. Maybe you can share more details into the dashboard features you would like to see out of the box in APEX? The original post was quite simplistic for such a large topic. To make it actionable for the APEX team, make sure to add more details and even screenshots to support your idea.

    @vincent morneau

    Hello,

    Simply put, the idea is simple , but its implementation is challenging.

    Several companies, including Minapharm and its sister companies (Migentra in Egypt, Probiogen in Germany), as well as Mienta/Bouri Greek Company in Egypt, have asked for a feature in Oracle Apex that allows end-users to create their own dashboard. This dashboard should include graphs, tables, pivots, cards, and other elements that can be created through drag-and-drop functionality. Ideally, this feature should also support forecasting and give ability for end-users to save it look like saving interactive report feature.

    I have seen similar functionality in Oracle Analytic Desktop, which serves as an excellent example. Incorporating these features into Oracle Apex would be a powerful tool and a significant addition to the platform. Introducing a new page type with these capabilities would be just as essential as implementing faceted search functionality.

    In summary, the end-users require the ability to create their own dashboard with various elements, and incorporating this feature into Oracle Apex would be a valuable addition.

    Thanks for replying, but I‘m still confused. How is this not possible in APEX today? You can drag and drop graphs, tables, pivots, cards, and other components based on your own tables.

    My understanding is that you would like dashboards to be easier to build and more declarative, or is there something else?
