Here is my problem when want to align a display only field:
Have to do a lot of customising to make this look like a serious framework:
It's not enough to check every item on it's own they have to also fit next to each other?
Thanks Jürgen, this is an "old" issue and has been reported several times at several channels. Think, it would be really time to nail that finally.
I sometimes struggle too on display only field alignment to have it match other items in a grid's row/column; especially when I try to add “Pre Text” and “Post Text” attributes to add “mini” help tips to always display.
Yes, I have had a hard time with the text alignment too. Its worse if you are OCD about such things, just can't let it go by.
You shouldn't have OCD to be bothered by this. This is the bread and butter a frameworks should get right 100% and being rock solid. AFTER that we could think about investing time and money in new fancy features like a search fields (nobody really understands). There are tons of examples like this I (and many others I personally know) could not understand why they have never been addressed.
It's sad, that the APEX team has lost the connection to the community, the people who made APEX what it is today because they contributed their real life experience, requirements and love, we were basically one team. Today APEX is working for Oracle. It has become a regular Oracle product and has to deliver new features every release. Joel told me that is a double edged sword that APEX suddenly has become the full attention of Oracle and investing a lot of money in it because now they have to deliver what Oracle thinks they need to do.

Just to be clear, I'm not blaming anybody for this development. Maybe this is the time where we should stop to worship “false gods” and start to look up again?
At least we had a great time for 15 years and for me it's a great opportunity to learn what went wrong and why and what you better don't do yourself if you are in this situation (just like with Apple).
I agree with j_schuster 100%, I myself often write that ORACLE is already too big to correct such a small mistake, and there are dozens of them. Oracle is making new features and not improving what it has done....
That was always true, but roughly 2 years ago the APEX team was not really part of the Oracle machine. This was this extraordinary thing nobody could really understand inside and outside of Oracle. It was a little bit like an independent startup Oracle forgot about 😊. Now the Borg found it 😅
