Extend UI defaults to IR and IG

Idea Summary
The User Interface defaults (SQL Workshop) is currently limited to Form and Classic report region generation. It would be great to expand this, since these defaults save a lot of time when working on large applications.

Use Case
When building a large APEX application, with many pages being based on the same tables/views, there is a need to keep items properties uniform (labels, item type, help, format…). The UI defaults are very useful here to auto-populate properties when generating new pages with the wizards. It would be very good if these defaults are also applied when creating Interactive reports and Interactive Grids (which is not the case now in 21.1).

Preferred Solution (Optional)
Apply the UI defaults when creating new pages/items through the wizards for Interactive Reports and Interactive Grids (also editable).

UI defaults should be picked first from the table dictionary, and if not found then the attribute dictionary.

Extra idea: better “sync” functionality where UI defaults are applied to already existing pages/items.

This is currently on the roadmap for a future release of Oracle APEX.

I do support this idea strongly, as using the Attribute Dictionary saves a lot of time when apps become bigger.

Current Status of  Apex Version 21.2.

    Using the Wizard with:

    • Single Interaktive Report, Single Classic Report : OK
    • Single Facted Search, Smart Filters: workaround with one manually step to load the defaults after wizard is finished
    • Single Formular: OK
    • Report with Form - workaround with one manually step to load the defaults after wizard is finished: Interaktive Report, Classic Report, Facted Search, Smart Filters
    • Not working at all: Interaktive Grid, Column Toggle Report, Reflow Report
    • Not relevant reports in my opinon: Cards, List View

The direct access to the Attribute Dictionary via IDE Utilities has been removed in a later Version than Apex 20.2 . By  the way - maybe it is worth thinking in depth about the entire workflow of using and accessing the Attribute Dictionary.

Furthermore you get “Page not Found” errors when trying to access the Attribute Dictionary from available links in the IDE.
