Narrative Reporting enables multiple team members to produce report packages in a collaborative way. In this learning path, you will learn about how to author Excel-based or Management Reporting-based reference doclets. They contain common report content for use within report package doclets.

Reference doclets are created by report package owners. Their common report content can be used by other doclet authors with separate duties. Their content is displayed in Available Content lists to control what is available to embed within report package doclets. You can work with Excel-based or Management Reporting-based content.

Reference variables enable you to reference a source in another document (doclet or reference file) within the report package, such as a single Excel cell or selected Word text, and use them as reference variable value sources in your report package doclet. You can then insert the reference variable into one or more doclets. When the reference variable source value is updated, all inserted instances of the variable are automatically updated.

As a reference doclet author, you can add charts and graphs from Management Reporting that other authors within the report package can reference in their doclets.
