About This Workshop
The labs in this workshop walk you through all the steps that you need to access the Data Lake (Oracle Object Storage buckets) using Autonomous Database (ADB) and Data Catalog. First, you set-up the workshop environment and create resources such as a compartment, users, a Data Catalog instance, an Autonomous Database instance, and the necessary IAM policies to use the Data Catalog, ADB, and Oracle Object Storage resources. Next, you create an Oracle Object Storage data asset in Data Catalog, add its data connections to access three Oracle Object Storage buckets, and create a filename pattern to specify the structure of the generated logical entities. Next, you harvest the data asset and view the harvested data entities. Next, you synchronize the Data Catalog metadata with ADB. Once the synchronization process is completed successfully, you can query data that lives in your Oracle database and combine that with data that is stored in your Oracle Object Storage buckets using regular SQL select statements that includes joined tables.
