About This Workshop
Modern web and mobile applications are built with a front-end in Javascript and a backend as a service that scales and is administered autonomously on the cloud. This workshop shows the mobile ordering app GrabDish with a front-end in Javascript calling app and data services in the database directly, eliminating the need of a middle-end built on containers managed by Kubernetes. Back-end microservices code is written in both Javascript and PL/SQL in the database. Compressing the converged data architecture pattern to two tiers simplifies development and deployment of modern enterprise applications tremendously.
