About This Workshop
This workshop will guide you through migrating a WebLogic Server domain from a pre-packaged 'on-premises' demo environment to OCI with the WebLogic Server stack from the Marketplace. The demo environment provides a simple set of applications: a static web app and a database-connected app to showcase the migration of a realistic environment. It makes use of the various tool to migrate the WebLogic domain, like WebLogic Deploy Tooling, as well as database migration tools (data pump).

  • Migrate a WebLogic domain with its applications and resources to OCI using a simulated on-premises environment
  • Provision the Weblogic Server on OCI with the Marketplace
  • Provision the Application Database on OCI DBaaS
  • Migrate the database from on-premises using data pump
  • Migrate the Weblogic domain applications and resources with Weblogic Deploy Tooling

Scale the WebLogic Domain

Tear down the Environment

  • Familiarity with Weblogic is desirable, but not required
  • Familiarity with Database is desirable, but not required
  • Some understanding of cloud and database terms is helpful
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastucture (OCI) is helpful
