Exclude “Supporting Objects” from application-wide full-text search

Idea Summary
When the Application Builder's “Search” field is used, the default should be to not search within the Supporting Objects.

Use Case
The application-wide search functions (“Search this App for …” or “Seach all applications for …”) are invaluable tools, but the results always include the Supporting Objects locations. I would rather only search in the Application's own codebase in the narrower sense.

Supporting Objects have no impact on the application logic. They usually contain database code for distribution or as a backup, which is best browsed with a database editor (or as a separate task in APEX).

Preferred Solution
Please remove the Supporting Objects from the global search (that's hardly ever used). You could add an extended search task when the programmer is working in the context of the Supporting Objects (or subpages hereof) in order not to give up existing functionalities.

We reviewed this idea carefully, and while it was interesting, we concluded that due to all the internal implications we need to take into account, it is unlikely to make its way into APEX.

    Hi @andreas wismann / when others ,

The team discussed this idea today we have decided to close it, as we don't think we can prioritize it along the existing roadmap.
