New button in Page Designer: Edit last file

jochen.zehe Public
· Nov 6 2024

Idea Summary
We already have a button which always brings you to the last edited page.

“Edit Page 20" (located next to the Run Page button)

It would be useful to have the same button “Edit File xy" which always brings you to the lats edited file. Switching between a Page and a Static File would be much easier then.

Use Case
Switching several times between a Page and a Static File. (CSS / JS)

Preferred Solution (Optional)
Add a new button to the left of the button “Developer Comment”.

We reviewed this idea carefully, and while it was interesting, we concluded that due to all the internal implications we need to take into account, it is unlikely to make its way into APEX.

I believe this can be handled simply by having two different tabs. What is so special about application files that would necessitate another button in page designer? What about the last edited LOV, or last edited Plugin?
