API to export a page and its related components

Use Case
Promote a page regardless of another modified pages not ready to be promoted

Preferred Solution (Optional)
An API to export a page and its related components. Each page or components must have a release status and a version. The selective export only must work on the last version with release status ‘released’

We reviewed this idea carefully, and while it was interesting, we concluded that due to all the internal implications we need to take into account, it is unlikely to make its way into APEX.
