This 100% cloud based course trains Oracle Cloud administrators how to configure, manage, and monitor Oracle Java Cloud Service and WebLogic Server 12c. After learning about application servers in general and WebLogic Server you will learn about Java Cloud Service and the benefits of deploying your applications to the Oracle cloud. In hands-on browser-based activities you will learn how to provision a Trial Cloud account, configure your cloud and deploy your first application to Java Cloud Service.
This course is not a traditional instructor-led, classroom training event. Instead, the course is designed to put you, the learner, at the center of the learning experience.
Rather than a five-day, week-long course, the course is delivered to you as a series of self-paced lessons.
Each new lesson will be provided through the Oracle Learning Library (OLL) platform. Lessons consist of:
The following are a list of useful resources:
There is nothing required for your local machine. Later lessons will provide an application which can be uploaded to a Oracle Java Cloud Service. Students who wish to obtain a trial account for use with the homework may do so via the link here.
Each lesson contains a homework assignment. For ease, lessons 2 and 3 contain homework walk-throughs. A walk-through is a video of someone performing the practice, homework or lab exercises. These walk-throughts are intended for students who, for whatever reason, are having difficulty performing lab activities. For example, if you had difficulty obtaining a Java Trial instance, your trial instance expired, or you used all of its allocated quota, then the walk-though can be used to see the homework in action without having to perform the steps. In addition, students who do not wish to obtain a trial account can follow the walk-through without concern.

In order to complete the homework for lesson 3, students will need an application. The benefits application (provided via the link) must be downloaded to the student computer so it can be later uploaded to the Java Cloud Service. It is suggested that students use c:\deployments (under Windows) or ~/deployments (*unix), however any local directory should work.
