    • This 100% cloud based course trains Oracle Cloud administrators how to configure, manage, and monitor Oracle Java Cloud Service and WebLogic Server 12c. After learning about application servers in general and WebLogic Server you will learn about Java Cloud Service and the benefits of deploying your applications to the Oracle cloud. In hands-on browser-based activities you will learn how to provision a Trial Cloud account, configure your cloud and deploy your first application to Java Cloud Service.

This course is not a traditional instructor-led, classroom training event. Instead, the course is designed to put you,  the learner, at the center of the learning experience.

Rather than a five-day, week-long course, the course is delivered to you as a series of self-paced lessons.

Each new lesson will be provided through the Oracle Learning Library (OLL) platform. Lessons consist of:

      • Video "lecture" material - Each lesson is comprised of multiple video's presenting the concepts and content for that specific learning area.
      • Demonstrations - Reinforcing examples of various functional areas discussed in video lecture materials.
      • Quizzes- reinforcing knowledge and providing a measure for exit/completion criteria for each lesson.
      • Homework - Ungraded reinforcing 'cookbook' based assignments which provide step by step instructions for performing the operations demonstrated and discussed within a lesson.
      • Home work walk-throughs -  Where appropriate, walk-throughs of homework assigns are provided as an example of completing an assignment to assist students who are having difficulty or lack the time required to complete assignments.

    • There is nothing required for your local machine.  Later lessons will provide an application which can be uploaded to a Oracle Java Cloud Service.  Students who wish to obtain a trial account for use with the homework may do so via the link here.

    • Homework Walk-Throughs

Each lesson contains a homework assignment.  For ease, lessons 2 and 3 contain homework walk-throughs. A walk-through is a video of someone performing the practice, homework or lab exercises. These walk-throughts are intended for students who, for whatever reason, are having difficulty performing lab activities. For example, if you had difficulty obtaining a Java Trial instance, your trial instance expired, or you used all of its allocated quota, then the walk-though can be used to see the homework in action without having to perform the steps.  In addition, students who do not wish to obtain a trial account can follow the walk-through without concern.

      • Lesson 1 - This homework assignment walk-through covers creating SSH keys, and then provisioning your DB and JCS instance
      • Lesson 2 - This homework assignment walk-through covers starting and stopping Java Cloud Service Instances
      • Lesson 3 - This homework assignment walk-through covers deploying and testing a Java Enterprise Edition application to a Java Cloud Service instance.
  • Lesson 1: Introduction to Oracle Cloud, and Oracle Java Cloud Services
      duration 0 Min
Administrators, developers, and IT professionals all need to know the basic concepts, capabilities and architecture of Oracle Cloud Service in general and Oracle Java Cloud Service specifically.  During this lesson you will learn the benefits of Oracle Cloud. We will examine the capabilities of Oracle Java Cloud Services, examining concepts of provisioning, management, and architecture.
