About This Workshop
The labs in this workshop walk you through all the steps to get started using Oracle Big Data Service (BDS). You will learn how to plan, create, monitor, and access a non-Highly Available (non-HA) Hadoop cluster using BDS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will also add Oracle SQL Cloud to the cluster and access the utility and master nodes in the cluster using reserved public IP addresses. You will learn how to use Cloudera Manager and Hue to access the cluster directly in a web browser. You will also create a Hadoop Administrator user that that will have full access to all the data and metadata on the cluster. You will access HDFS using the newly created user, and add the new user to Hue. You will learn how to upload data to HDFS and to a new bucket in object storage. You will query the HDFS data using Hue and view the data in object storage. Finally, you will learn how to clean up all of the resources that you created in this workshop.
