About This Workshop
This workshop walks you through the steps of refactoring a simple existing monolithic application into multiple microservices using Helidon, Oracles Java-based microservices framework which meets the Eclipse MP standard. The microservices are then packed using docker and deployed into the OCIR OKE is used to deploy the microservices. The lab looks at how to use OKE for increased availability and automatic scaling, as well as automated rollouts. Optional modules include using Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, Flagger to capture log data and store it in Elastic Search or Oracle Object Storage, and the use of the linked service mesh to provide additional security, monitoring, and canary deployments.
