Add a Push Notification Log Similar to APEX_MAIL_LOG

Idea Summary

Add a built-in push notification log with configurable retention and automatic cleanup, similar to APEX_MAIL_LOG.

Oracle APEX provides a push notification queue, but there is no equivalent documented log to review processing results after notifications leave the queue. A temporary history would make it easier to monitor activity and investigate failures without implementing custom logging.

Use Case

This feature would help developers and administrators troubleshoot failed notifications, investigate reports from users who did not receive a notification, and review recent send attempts.

For example, when a user reports a missing notification, developers could check when it was processed, whether the push service accepted it, and whether an error occurred. Acceptance by the push service should be clearly distinguished from delivery to or reading on the user's device.

Preferred Solution (Optional)

Provide a public dictionary view, such as APEX_PUSH_NOTIFICATIONS_LOG, and a corresponding report in the APEX administration interface.

The log could include:

  • Application ID and recipient username.
  • Notification title.
  • Queued and processed timestamps.
  • Submission status.
  • Error details and number of attempts.
  • Entries should remain available for a configurable retention period and then be automatically purged, keeping storage usage under control.
