Font Awesome icons include Social Media icons

Idea Summary
Oracle APEX should include a built-in collection of modern Font Awesome social media icons such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. While APEX currently supports standard Font Awesome icons, many widely used social icons are missing or require custom installation. Adding these icons natively will make it easier for developers to build intuitive and visually clear buttons for end users. It will also eliminate the need for external CDN links, custom uploads, or manual theme updates.

Use Case

  • Applications that include a WhatsApp quick-chat button for customer service.
  • Login or profile pages that use recognizable social media icons for clarity.
  • Dashboards or marketing modules showing social media metrics (e.g., Facebook likes or Instagram followers).
  • Share buttons for blogs, announcements, or reports within APEX applications.
  • Internal company portals that include social media links in navigation menus or footers.
  • E-commerce or customer service systems where WhatsApp communication is frequently used.

Preferred Solution (Optional)
Oracle APEX could integrate the FontAwesome additional icon pack directly. Adding a new “Social Media Icons” category in the Icon Picker. Developers would then be able to use icons like **fa-brands fa-facebook**, **fa-brands fa-whatsapp**, etc., without any manual setup.
