Expand Universal Theme with More Modern Web UI/UX Templates and Layouts

Idea Summary
Enhance the Universal Theme in Oracle APEX by adding more modern, out-of-the-box page templates, region templates, and style variations that follow current UI/UX trends (e.g., Material Design, Fluent UI, Tailwind, Bootstrap 5). Include modern layouts, card-based dashboards, dark mode, and animation presets to make APEX apps visually competitive without heavy customization.

Use Case
Developers building client-facing or SaaS applications often spend significant time customizing the Universal Theme to achieve a contemporary look. More ready-made modern templates would speed up development, reduce CSS overrides, and improve user perception of APEX applications.

Preferred Solution
Add a set of new page and region templates, pre-configured Theme Roller palettes, and built-in animations to the Universal Theme. Include examples of modern layouts, split views, minimal headers, glassmorphism effects, and responsive dashboards—available directly in the APEX template gallery.

    Hi @thaer , APEX is committed to bring new, modern templates and components out of the box. However this idea is generic and would be difficult for us to action such that we would mark it as delivered in the future.

    Thanks @vincent morneau for the response. I understand my idea was broad, but my main point is that Universal Theme still lags behind modern UI/UX trends that other frameworks provide out of the box (like glassmorphism, bento layouts, smarter motion UI, and adaptive dark mode).

    I’m not asking for all of this at once, but rather to see UI/UX improvements as a continuous commitment on the APEX roadmap, so that APEX keeps pace with modern web design standards.

    Please keep in mind contemporary trends like translucent (opacity, box-shadow) Liquid Glass UI while redesigning new themes.
